However hectic and crazy your day was, one thing is for certain, you will go home more calm and relaxed than you arrived after the Tuesday evening meditation session!
Meditating in a group has some great benefits. Not only does it support you to maintain that discipline of actually getting around to doing it, but there is that special power that emanates when people sit in a circle together with this intention. This has been known since time immemorial and in many cultures. Meditating together therefore offers so much more calmness and insight.
Some are perfectly capable of regularly meditating by themselves at home and others cannot find the discipline, time or space. Perhaps you get distracted easily when sitting on your own. It is nice to have a fixed moment in the week when you know that, under warm and loving guidance, you can take a break, turn your attention inwards and do nothing for a while. An evening not having to do your best but arriving at yourself. Some recharge for your emotional and psychological well-being. You create an island of calm in your hectic week. This provides so much more relaxation than an evening spent on the couch watching TV.
The programme on this evening varies every week. There is always a combination of meditations such as body scan, sitting meditation, walking meditation, slow yoga meditation and variations thereof. Sometimes with music or a lovely lavender sleep mask. In addition, a poem, a story or a book fragment is read aloud and there is (brief) group discussion about it. It provides an opportunity to reflect together on everyday challenges and sometimes on profound existential things. For many, this fulfils the need for inspiration, reflection and meaning.
In short, on every week on Tuesday, you are welcome to join in a session of meditation, relaxation and inspiration. You can subscribe for one month or for 2 months, or just attend a single session. You can also buy a multiple session card that is valid for 1 year to have the flexibility of dates.Â

Trainer
This MBSR training will be guided by Gaula Shehadeh. Gaula has the highest degree in mindfulness certification (category 1) and is a VMBN-registered trainer and also has many years of intensive meditation and retreat experience from her Buddhist background. She is often described as down-to-earth, wise, gentle with a touch of humour.
